Most of us live lives filled with people, experiences and things to be thankful for. Yet, we predominantly place our attention on what is lacking and worry about what “might” go wrong. This will always lead us to feel out of balance and unfulfilled. More concerning is the impact of negative thoughts. Our thoughts affect our bodies and those we surround ourselves with. When we embrace and positively accept our thoughts, we begin the journey of creating health and well-being. If we want to create happier and healthier lives, we need to learn how to consciously direct our thoughts towards a more neutral if not positive perspective. Here’s a simple daily practice that creates more positive thoughts and emotions by shifting your attention to the bright side of the road. ◾Upon waking, think about all you have to be grateful for ◾Use visual cues to remind you to direct your thoughts towards joy, happiness and health throughout the day ◾Find three new things to appreciate each day ◾Count your blessings before you fall asleep ◾Repeat daily to feel happier and healthier To sum it up simply and as we have always known – Count your blessings–not your troubles! -The Daily Buddha
