Most of you are probably unaware that Sutro Forest -- the 100-year-old eucalyptus forest which crowns Mt. Sutro and forms the south side of Cole Valley -- is in the process of being cut down. UCSF and the City have a joint plan to fell 7/8 of the trees and use toxic pesticides to kill undergrowth all over the hill. I dont know about you, but I like Sutro as a natural forest, and dont want it to turn into a hilly version of the Panhandle.
