Most of you have read Bill’s post from early Monday morning; the last few days have been pretty rough on him physically and mentally! Sunday afternoon Bill started to feel better. I was hoping he was turning the corner. Leg cramps started early Monday morning. I suggested we go to the cancer center and get IV fluids. He declined my suggestion and decided to up his water intake and see if this would make a difference……. Today started out with emails to Little Rock and a trip to Tammy Walker Cancer Center for labs. Once we arrived mid-afternoon (rough morning for Mr. Goodness’). I ask about getting IV for Mr. Goodness after his lab work was completed. The ball was set in motion and within 5 minutes Bill was called to the back, blood work was drawn and Mae his R.N. was getting vitals. Out of nowhere Dr. Beck appears (he was at Hospital checking on patient) and started questioning Bill in front of the nurses station….. a few minutes later were escorted to exam room and Dr. Beck informed Bill he was admitting him into hospital for much needed IV antibiotics and fluids……. (I would have never guessed the man needed IV fluids)……….. Bill and I made it clear to Dr. Beck, “we have a wedding to attend the end of this month and Bill needs to be out of the hospital and healthy to walk our daughter down the aisle.” Dr. Beck said if all test results (virus) come back negative, Bill should be dismissed, in 48 hours. NO VISTORS lab work showed Bill is neutropenic from the chemo, and has no immune system. Praying for Bill’s health to be restored and he is back to normal and feeling better then he has in the last year and half!!!!!! ( I always say be specific on what you pray for) I can’t say enough about Dr. Beck and the staff at Tammy Walker Cancer Center. We have heard stories from other patients at Little Rock who’s home town Cancer Center doesnt work well with Little Rock……… They let their ego get in the way of treating their patient while at home. Dr. Beck and his staff have always been nothing but kind and wonderful to us and take Bill’s treatment at home very seriously…….. For this reason I Thank God! I hate, hate, hate seeing Bill sick! It shakes me to my core. I hate to see him struggle to get out of a chair, use his cane, and witness the fatigue that has settle upon his body. I hate this horrible disease! I have had some serious tearful conversations with God the last few days. I have prayed for healing for Bill. Thanked him for giving me such a wonderful man who has loved me unconditionally for 34 years (I know it is shocking to read…. I’m far from perfect). I have thanked him for giving our three kids a wonderful Dad and role model! I thank him for taking care of our finances which allows me to stay home and take care of Bill ……. I thanked him for OUR wonderful KHP family, our awesome friends close and far away. I thanked him for our wonderful pastor and church family. When I focus on the blessings God has given us, peace settles upon me and the fears of the unknown start to fade away with a quiet whisper known to my soul, reminding me “God has paved away”. “God is Good and tomorrow will be a better day!” Peace and Blessings, Kim “Hope will keep you happy and full of peace.” Romans 15:13 My friend Cathy Taylor sent me this scripture a few days ago..... a gift from God!
