Most people dont know it, but Munichs neo-gothic city hall, the Rathaus, has two glockenspiels, not one. The first chimes into motion at least once daily at 11am (more often in summer), when medieval knights come out to joust and brightly attired apprentices to dance. The second operates only once a year, in May, when the bells ring, the wheels turn and little Bayern Munich players dance before the crowds in Marienplatz holding aloft a football trophy. Its a very old Munich tradition.
