Most people feed rabbits commercial rabbits pellets as they are convenient and used to be fairly inexpensive to feed (the price has been rising). But in tough times you will have to raise your rabbits on forage alone. Remember the rabbit-worm-garden ecosystem I was talking about earlier (I will be getting into this in more detail soon). The problem is, today’s rabbits have been bred to thrive on a pellet diet so you will have to get your rabbits gut adjusted to a more natural diet. You will have to grow or forage for your rabbits to make up for the loss of pellets weeds, green twigs cut from safe trees, garden refuse, grains, and hay are all good for your rabbits.
