Most people ignore the basics of speed, and start out running intervals at their goal race pace. They figure they will work backwards and piece together a race plan over time, eventually becoming fit enough to sustain that pace for a whole race. I am proud of this video because Coach Crespo shows how it is the practice of running, using other workouts as a foundation, that gets you faster; not merely trying to run a pace and hoping you run out of race before you run out of steam.
