Most people who have joined this page are aware that my Dad was at times an avid movie maker using old 8mm film. This clip is from Austria but Tasmania. He thought Tassie was a little like Austria. He often told the story that his choice of Tasmania as a place to originally live was because he thought it was the closest to looking like Austria and home. He also thought it would have good ski fields. He was wrong about the skiing with only one place to ski and not that exciting. He was right about the similarities of rural landscapes. This clip features the rural area where our Grandparents had a farm - Meander. It features their farm and a few smaller farms located up back road to what was call Jackies March. Judge for yourselves, whether my Dads choice gave him a little of his home even in the rural setting of Tasmania. *********************************************************** Just a word of warning - there are some rather graphic lunchtime preparations in the first few seconds of the video ***********************************************************
