Most will remember the recent fawning interview of Modi by Fareed Zakaria of CNN. Not a single inconvenient question and sycophancy continued for days after the interview. On the contrary, Fareed Zakaria while interviewing General Musharraf was his patronizing self and asked the General why despite Pakistan receiving 10 billion dollars from United States had failed to reign in Talibans. Zakaria probably didnt see it coming despite the signs. One could see twitching of eyebrows and devilish grin across Generals face and finally the chuckle while the question was being asked. He answered Fareed with a straight face that out of supposed 10 billions given to Pakistan, half of that was for the service his country provided to the US in its war against terror and rest was for the military and civilian purposes. He topped that by asking Fareed how come US despite spending over 140 billion dollars in Afghanistan has not overcome Talibans. Despite the dropped jaw of Fareed, Musharraf didnt offer to close that for him?
