It is capable of a 600 mile range at 40mph, 1000 lb. crane for sampling equipment and weather buoy tending; flow thru pumps for continuous water sampling; and large doors/cutouts for ease of water access, which will allow the AUV/glider to be brought aboard with wings still attached. The new Yellowfin is also equipped with a full head, shower. It also has the latest in touch screen navonics and blue tooth, power inverter (110volt), 12 volt out lets, work stations and extra seating for crew/scientist. The new Yellowfin is also very economical! With a range of 600 miles at a 40mph cruise this vessel routinely carries out 200 mile survey cruises in a work day(burn rate is 1.1 miles per 1 gal of gas compared to the R/V Eugeine Clark at .5 miles per 1 gal at 14 mph).
