Mother Nature has the blues! And there are few blues as naturally beautiful as this hue in an Arctic melt water pond. This image was captured from a NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration ER-2 aircraft (similar to a U2 spy plane) flying at 64,000 feet above Southeast Alaska on July 16. Similar meltponds form on sea ice in the Arctic waters around Alaska each summer during the summer thaw. via NASAs Earth Observatory
