Mother Nature smiled upon all of us here at Fox Lea Farm today with a pleasant wind, periods of beautiful sunshine, with the ominous dark storm clouds quietly drifting past providing periods of cloud cover & with only one brief early afternoon light rain shower. My day started with the driving classes before moving over to the west ring for the hunter & equitation over fences & hunter hack classes, Smithy quickly settled into a comfortable mode of Quarter Horse Show in-gate dog, it took me a little longer to get into a comfortable smooth routine & reacquainted with the differences in class formats, descriptions & familiar with the exhibitors & professionals. Overall a day which brought a few small challenges mixed in with many fun chats with friends & time spent getting to know new friends. All of the exhibitors, professionals, judges & excellent staff (Mark Harrell Quarter Horse management & a few of the usual Fox Lea family) are so easy & lots of fun to work with, making this an outstanding & truly enjoyable day of horse showing all across the show grounds. Now a quiet afternoon & evening hanging out with my canine companions watching movies in my camper & time walking around in my/our favorite field. My heart enjoying the simple beauty of horse show life Quarter Horse Style...Different styles, faces, equipment, yet the fun, laughter, passion for competition & genuine love for the horses is truly the same...Life is such a beautiful & amazing journey...Feeling so grateful for this fantastic opportunity on so many levels...
