Mother forges letter from heaven from deceased dad for her 8 year old son. Despicable. This was not a generous act from the mother, it was instead selfish and destructive: by trying to artificially alleviate the pain of the child, she was merely managing her own emotions. She also tried to exercise power over him by praising his good behavior and by telling him to swear less. She also undermined her sons sense of autonomy by making him believe he is constantly being watched by an authoritative figure in the sky. The more her son believes that this fairy tale is real, the more painful it will be when he discovers the truth. And the extent to which he doesnt believe that the letter is real, is the extent to which his mother has already destroyed the foundations of trust in the past. Relationships rest on steel beams of truth and trust. By lying to her son, the mother is scattering thermite all over the place. When he finds out about her lies, his anger will automatically set the powder ablaze. Dont lie to children, they deserve truth more than anyone.
