Mother nature trailed her best blue skirt for us yesterday, but it - TopicsExpress

Mother nature trailed her best blue skirt for us yesterday, but it turned out to be a tease - the cloud was firmly back in place by three, and thats what I awake to this morning - that same old slab, peopled by shapeshifting shadows, shimmying down from the north-east, riding the cold wind down as far as it will take them - and it must be a hard wind up there - theyre rolling and tumbling over each other like those bargain crazed loons on black friday, a veritable stampede of them - all frantic to get somewhere else... Hard and fast as it may be above, the air here below is mercifully softer - only a few gentle flurries to flirt around the edges of the evergreen leaves, and hardly troubling the skeletal trees at all - which means fewer cold draughts to make me tighten the dressing gown around me, and making it less will-power consuming to turn the heating off and start the old flowerpot heater up... Every time I do that, it feels like Im giving the finger to those fossil fuel extortionist monstrosities - and ok, its hardly going to change the world, but if everybody could do it... And yes, I know that candle wax is still a primitive carbon based energy source, but until we get one or the other of the much trumpeted unlimited free energy sources onstream, its the best this particular ol dinosaur can manage for the time being... But anyway - back to the day - which is slowly lightening to reveal all the golds and browns and shades of green still hanging on despite the advancing season, adding their brave and still vibrant colours to an otherwise drab grey day - a day in which I think Ill run up a few riffs and try to find a cheap rail ticket up to Liverpool next friday, when I hope well be seeing a warm and happy gathering of the clans around the musical flames performing there - if yr going, seeya then! :¬}
