Mothers Day hasnt quite caught up with us here, so for me there was no breakfast in bed, no cards and gifts. However, as long as the offspring runs to fetch a glass of water if I choke on something, without my asking for it, I guess Im okay. Was trying to isolate one story from the mountain of stories about my mom. This one floated to the top. I was getting ready for some do at my college, and was about to iron my only , horribly crumpled blouse when of course the power went. Knowing it wasnt about to return anytime soon, Ma went to the kitchen. She returned in a few minutes, holding a hot tawa with a pair of tongs.She proceeded to iron my blouse with it. Two more trips to the kitchen to heat the tawa on the gas stove, and I had a perfectly ironed blouse. I suppose it was because we giggled so much through the whole operation, and because I was so impressed by her ingenuity, that this floated to the top.
