Mothers In Waiting It is by far the most exciting time of year here at Goatchard Farms. Awaiting the birth of our kids brings much anticipation. We have watched the bellies grow and swell for 153 days. In the past week we have been able to feel little hooves, heads, and legs beneath the skin. We wait in wonder similar to Christmas Eve. What will come from inside the furry packages? What color will our kids be? What will their markings be like? Most of all, we hope for a little girl to be able to keep! :) As the calculated due date; April 14, draws closer and closer. We make more and more frequent trips to the barn, both day and night. We soothe and scratch restless mothers-to-be as they become a little uncomfortable in their final days of pregnancy. There is nothing more miraculous than new life entering this world. I love this time of year on the farm the most!
