Mothers life lesson #6 If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem. This is a hard one for some folks. It means if someone is doing something wrong and you dont correct it and you do the same thing you are making the problem bigger. When I was around 12 we had a project due at school some kinda building that we were to make our selves well I made mine it looked pretty good and some of my other friends did theres, except on girl her dad did all of hers she was a only child well her project looked like one that was custom made and it was. She bragged for weeks that she did not even have to do hers her dad was doing it. Well the projects were graded and she got a A on hers no one else got a A, I got a B so did some of my friends. Hers made every ones look so bad. I went home that day upset that we had worked so hard on ours got a B and she got a A. Mother said did you tell the teacher she did not do hers I said no I did not want to be a tattle tail, she said then you are part of the problem as long as you allow someone else to cheat then you are guilty too, you know its wrong not speaking up only makes it ok for others to do it next time. No one has to know who told on her just talk to your teacher by your self explain it to her she will handle it from that point. Well the next day I met my teacher in the parking lot and told her she said that she knew the student did not do it and that was part of todays lesson she said just be quite in class dont tell any one. Well in class she had every one to stand up and tell how they built it and what they did first she started with the A she did not know the first thing her grade went to a F every one who did there own the grades went up. The teacher expanded that she told us to do it alone and it was not fair to the ones that had done just that. Well I still felt bad for getting the other girl out, it must have showed on me that day the teacher held me after class she told me not to fell bad about telling her that its cheating not just to get by but she was cheating all her friends out of a better grade. That was the best lesson I think I ever learned that there is a time when you need to sleep up.
