Mother’s Day 05/12/13 “I know the plans I have for you, announces the Lord.” I want you to enjoy success. I do not plan to harm you. I will give you hope for years to come. Then you will call out to me. And I will listen to you. I will give you hope for years to come. Then you will call out to me. You will come and pray to me. And I will listen to you. When you look for me with all your heart, you will find me. I will be found by you, announces the Lord. “And I will bring you back from where you were taken prisoner. I will gather you from all nations. I will gather you from the places where I have forced you to go,” announces the Lord. “I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you away.” O Come, O Come Emmanuel, And ransom captive Israel, Who mourns in lonely exile here, Until the Son of God appear. Rejoice, rejoice; Emmanuel shall come, To thee O Israel! We all begin as individuals. But then we learn that our home is in God. Even after being born again, we still do not spend all that much time being bondservants of Christ. The weight of the way of man around us is heavy; and we still find ourselves soaking in the fat of mammon, flowing all around us. The snare of vanity is that it is blinding to the ways of God. If we want to be a positive influence in the world, we should let God show us what is behind every vain wall. As He told Samuel, “Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” Of course He also created every thing that is, including the man of evil. “The Lord knows those who are His.” And He knows everything before it comes into existence, be it good or evil. So the only pure truth of His purposes lie in Him – not in His creation. We must “come back to the heart of worship…. and it’s all about Jesus.” God’s desire for us is that we would become like Him, by our own free choice. Just like by our own free choice we stepped out of likeness with Him at the fall. He wants to completely transform that horrible event that occurred at the creation. When we are completed in Him, we will be more splendid than Adam and Eve were before the fall. God Himself keeps the world spinning. He actively keeps the hearts of both the saved and the sinner beating. God is so pure He is on a plane that we can never glimpse clearly enough to understand in this life. The power of His jealousy over His holiness is so strong and heavy, that it is that glory that keeps us from being instantly destroyed by His felt presence. The New Jerusalem is coming. It is the whole body of believers united in the perfection of God. Very few will not be saved. Relatively speaking, the vast majority of people in existence will submit to the blood of Jesus. I think we will be quite surprised in heaven when we see who is there and who is not. Can we by only our own individual lives comprehend the fullness of the power that is extended to us in salvation? Many people have died never coming across the true name of God. Yet, perhaps in a billion different ways -- by choices and circumstances -- their earthly lives added up to “Yes, Jesus: I receive.” A lot of people depend on dogmatism to feel assured about who they are, but many do not; and yet they too are sons and daughters of God. It all depends on who a person is, and what God has called them to. Some are called to be Buddha, or Gandi, or follows of diverse carriers of truths. Even if the sphere of Christianity exists, the fruit of the knowledge of evil…which in itself is just as bad as corrupting-earthly-wisdom anywhere. But we have a higher calling because of what we have begun to know. No religion. No teaching. No obscure worship. We have tasted the glory of the very naked face of God! We have peered into His eyes secretly in our dreams, and ran with Him on mountains that are full of spices. So we have the foretaste of Him in a more direct and literal way. “Let us come boldly to the throne of grace for help in time of need.” Judgment must begin with the house of God. That is because we are the closest to Him. “There is not a son of God that He does not discipline.” We are in a sensitive position, but not so much that we cannot find great peace in our trust in God. Father, help us to always allow change in our lives – even in who we are. Make us humble and selfless. Let us know the joy of serving just you, while coming into more frequent and tender contact with Yourself. Let us not be afraid to “fall into the Hands of the Living God!” Let us do this every day of our lives. Let us be insatiably addicted to being touched and changed by You. Let us be consumed with who we are only inasmuch as it concerns You. Let us be as (rightfully) high and humble as you are. Let us relinquish the last of our shame that we may live in the fullness of the testimony of Jesus in us.
