Mother’s Day is the one day of the year when mothers can expect to be pampered and fussed over. The qualities of mothering - nurturing, guiding, mentoring, caregiving and the expressing of unconditional love - are so important. Together they form the building blocks of a caring, safe society. All of us, whether we are biological mothers or not, possess these qualities because they are God given gifts that make us innately human. The seeds of these qualities reside within us. It is our sacred responsibility to bring forth these qualities and unleash them on the world. Imagine a world where everyone both gave and received appreciation and acceptance at the deepest level of our being. As we celebrate Mother’s Day let’s re-dedicate ourselves to bringing these qualities into our homes, our communities and our workplaces. From the bottom of our hearts let’s deeply honor mothers who live these qualities day in and day out and change the world as they do so. They are our heroes and our role models.
