Movie : Ghanchakkar Genre : Comedy/Crime Release Year : 2013 Ghanchakkar is yet another addition to the list of poor films with exciting promos. The story revolves around Sanjay Aatre aka Sanju known for breaking even the most secured safes. After robbing crores from a bank with Pandit and Idris, Sanju is asked to keep the amount safe for three months. What happens after three months is what this movie is all about. After Aamir and No One Killed Jessica, Rajkumar Gupta fails in his attempt of directing a comedy movie. Emraan Hashmi (Sanju) delivers a good performance and is the only highlight in the movie. Vidya Balan’s role is insignificant to the flow of the movie. As Sanju’s loud and ultramodern Punjabi Wife Neetu, she delivers a few comic scenes but is overall very irritating with her high pitch and completely unconvincing Punjabi accent. Rajesh Sharma (Pandit) and Namit Das (Idris) will give you a few laughs, but they repeat a few jokes so many times that it’s not even funny. Full marks to Amit Trivedi for the music. It’s the only class act in the movie. Overall, Ghanchakkar disappoints in spite of a great team. The movie had all the ingredients of a good dark comedy but it falls miserably. The pace of the movie is slow and inconsistent. We don’t recommend this movie to anyone. Please buy the tickets at your own risk! :3 :3
