BALTASAR KORMAKUR (Everest) is in talks to direct ‘Reykjavik’, the historical drama about the 1986 Reykjavik Summit between U.S. President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev. Michael Douglas is attached to star as Reagan. RENNY HARLIN (Legend of Hercules) is in talks to direct ‘Skiptrace’, a Hong Kong-set action-adventure film starring Jackie Chan and Seann William Scott. JOEL AND ETHAN COEN (No Country for Old Men) will draft the screenplay for the untitled Cold War thriller about James Donovan, the attorney who negotiated the release of U-2 spy pilot Gary Powers. Tom Hanks is set to star as Donovan. FOCUS FEATURES has acquired North American distribution rights to ‘The Forest’, a supernatural thriller based on an original idea by screenwriter David S. Goyer (Man of Steel). FOX SEARCHLIGHT has set a December 5th release date for ‘Wild’. Reese Witherspoon stars in the film adaptation of Cheryl Strayed’s memoir of her 1,000 mile hike alone on the Pacific Crest Trail. Jean-Marc Vallee (Dallas Buyer’s Club) directed the film.
