Movie Suggestion of the Week #1: JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT was pretty awesome! Joining the ranks of Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, actors that have taken on Jack Ryan, the CIA analyst that always seems to find himself in the middle of the action, is Chris Pine who was surprisingly suited for the role. The plot is very grounded in modern day events being more focused on economic terrorism than a flat out action film. Dont get me wrong, it definitely delivers on the action as well as some slick espionage. Kenneth Branagh does a great job pulling double duty as the Russian villain and the films director. Kevin Costner, who seems to be making a run at a comeback, also did a good job in a slightly smaller role. I think this movie was very underrated and deserves more credit than it is been given. If you dont see it in theaters, definitely rent/Netflix it when it comes out.
