Movie review: Gravity A disaster at a space station leaves one astronaut fighting for survival. I was excited to finally get to see this movie. Ever since I saw the trailer and noticed that it was directed by Alfonso Cuaron I knew It should be good. Firstly, this is a special effects extravaganza. There is no denying everything you view is impressive. The opening sequence alone shows the power of the visuals and direction. The acting is everything it should be. Nothing oscar worthy, but still good. The action is handled well, and there is a lot of action for sure. I also enjoyed the theme which I wont give away, but its plastered on the screen at one point during a very cool shot of Sandra Bullock floating inside a space station. This movie surprised me. I didnt expect it to be so action centric. I went in expecting a quieter film about survival, but instead got more of a adrenaline inducing ride. I felt like I watched part of a movie more than a fully fleshed out story. Kinda felt like I was at a cool theme park ride. I wanted so much more. Give me more! The fact that this was nominated for best picture is odd. This was a cool Hollywood action film. Not a classic movie. Fun action film with great special effects, but not memorable or worthy of best picture nominations Imdb: 8.1 out of 10 Rotten tomatoes: 97% good reviews My score: B
