A movie about a U.S. Veteran returning home from Afghanistan and being helped through his struggles by a native American woman is to be shot in Red Lodge and Crow Agency next July. The film called ‘The Wind of Heaven’ will star Irene Bedard, who provided the voice of the 1995 Disney production of ‘Pocahontas.’ Bedard and Tami Wilhelm will also produce the project. Stephen Savage, who wrote the screenplay and is producing and directing the film, got the title from an Arabic proverb that states ‘The Wind of heaven is that which flows between the ears of a horse.’ “Everyone has been great,” said Savage. “We’ve been welcomed everywhere. I have a lot of information to take back for the screenplay.” Savage is bringing a crew of 70 people to Red Lodge and plans not to change anything, including the name of the town. He also visited the offices of Carbon County News with the intent of filming a scene in there. Savage added that anyone who wishes to be an extra in the film could do so. ‘The Wind of Heaven’ will be released on Open Road Pictures. The production company is Lunatopia Productions and Baylor Films.
