Moving from Latin to the vernacular in the Liturgy was the theological equivalent of taking the Church off the gold standard. We still have an economy, but the value of the spiritual currency has become highly devalued. Even today, while I presumably understand better what I am hearing at mass, something has been lost in translation. Men should always be very careful of attempting to remake something timeless.
