Moving on with my review of the Golden Decade of Music 1965-1974, - TopicsExpress

Moving on with my review of the Golden Decade of Music 1965-1974, where I am selecting the artists alphabetically and playing selections of their songs I liked or found influential from that Golden Decade. I am currently in the Cs and will play one from Climax, a band formed in Los Angeles, CA, in 1970. Climax consisted of Executive producer Marc Gordon, record producer Larry Cox, lead singer Sonny Geraci, composer and guitarist Walter Nims, keyboard player and composer Nick DAmico and composer and drummer Jon Jon Guttman. The song from Climax selected is their signature hit, Precious and Few, which peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Precious and Few was the bands biggest hit and was actually first recorded in 1970 with producer Ron Kramer. The song was later re-worked by producer Larry Cox, who was assigned by label owner Marc Gordon to re-tool the bands material, with Cox being introduced to Climax by fellow Texan and band keyboardist Johnny Stevenson. Cox urged the band to re-record Precious and Few and encouraged lead singer Sonny Geraci to capitalize on his extraordinary abilities to perform high-powered ballads. https://youtube/watch?v=I95xCjQe6Jg
