Moving to my husband’s much smaller hometown has its ups and - TopicsExpress

Moving to my husband’s much smaller hometown has its ups and downs. I am seriously questioning whether or not my girls’ education is a downside. I was swooned by the notion that smaller classes would equate to increased teacher/student interaction, a reduced student/teacher ratio, better communication with the classmates, school and parents. I have been sorely disappointed in all of it. My girls’ last year’s 8th grade class was over 700+. While I did not know all their classmates, I was very involved with their teachers, their classes, and their school. With 3 in school last year, not a day went by that I did not receive an email, phone call, or text from a teacher, the school, or committees I sat on. I never felt like I did not know what was happening on any given day. This year their entire class is less than 50, and I can’t even get an email. I am seriously considering bringing my girls back to private school by my office.
