Mr. Andrew Wilson, Chairman of the DNA, made an outstanding point - TopicsExpress

Mr. Andrew Wilson, Chairman of the DNA, made an outstanding point this morning. He stated that after 97, the Bahamian people have flip flopped between plp and fnm, and reason being is because we are looking for different and new. We thought, as a country, that the plp would do it. They didnt. So we put the fnm back. The only thing they did was cause people to go out of business while still not diversifying the economy. Then the dna came on board with an excellent and caring leader, deputy leader, and many great business man and economists. But we put the plp back AGAIN, and now wonder what went wrong.. Did ya really think they were going to do anything but talk, point fingers, and be absent when we were sentenced to econom ical death from VAT. Really? I conclude that we want new, but keep believing that we are only going to find it in the particular party that we cant seem to let go of. if the plp had been that change in 2002, why did the fnm win such a landslide in 2007? If THEY had been the change in 2007 why did the plp win by such a landslide in 2012? Think about it folks without getting all upset. the dna brings to the table a clear, simple and precise plan, with short and long term goals. We have a 3 point plan to turn the economy around. We are ready to tackle illegal immigration. Constitutional reform and FOIA will be enacted. The interest rates at the Central bank will be lowered. These are realistic goals and plan that could have and ca be done right now. Think about why the fnm and particularly the plp WONT do these things. Of course we dont live in Narnia, and there is no magic wand. That is not what the dna is saying. But my goodness, we have to start somewhere and offer some good news, as we build towards better.
