Mr. Benny Bruce Cobb, age 64, of Paducah, KY, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 24, 2013 after suffering heart failure while at work. Benny loved his job and he loved people. He was always available to try to do something he could for someone else. He loved working outdoors, gardening and spending time with those he knew. Benny was an avid and valuable baseball player for Reidland High School and Murray State University. He finished college at the University of Kentucky. Benny loved the Lord. Survivors include two sisters, Sandra Cobb of Paducah, and Connie Cobb Kitchens (Ronnie) of Salem; step-mother, Virginia Cobb of Paducah; two chosen brothers, Edward Farrell, J.D. Draffen and a beloved companion, BD, his blue heeler; one niece and two nephews, Tara and Matt McCleane of Mississippi, Ryan Kitchens of Salem, Rudy and Tina Cobb of Burna; four great nephews, Samuel, Sawyer, and Collin of Mississippi, Bryan Cobb of Burna. He had several aunts, uncles, and cousins that he was special to. Benny was preceded in death by his parents, Frances Martin Cobb, and Carl Odell Cobb. Brucee was his companion for 15 years and died just after Benny’s father. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 2PM, in the chapel of Boyd funeral Directors in Salem, with Rev’s. Roger Rice and Terry Phelps officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 5PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem.
