Mr Chaseman update!!!!! Chase was taken off ECMO machine Monday morning after being on only room oxygen for 36 hours, Docs had to move ventilator from his mouth to a trach because he had been on vent 14 days as of Monday. They didnt want to damage his throat or vocal cords by leaving it there any longer. He did great adjusted perfect when they moved it. He is currently only on 40% oxygen from vent. Yesterday was tough on him they took away meds that kept him in drug induced coma switched to other med so he could basically wake up! His body had rough time coming off that strong meds. Docs told us he could have rough 3 or 4 days coming off of these. BROKE MY HEART into millions of pieces they wouldnt let me talk or touch him for fear of over stimulation him wanting me to help make it stop. I went to bed covered my head, prayed, cried, walk the floor, looked through window at him then do all that all over. So this morning I was so afraid to go in his room. I slowly peaked around the corner ...his eyes wide open completely focused grinning the biggest grin I know I have ever seen from him, I just melted I said Hi bud oh thank God you are really in there tears rolling down my face I grabbed his hand ( which was no longer tied down) got really close to his little face I just said bud your OK, your belly is fine, no worries before I could say one more word he mouthed words to me WHAT HAPPENED ?? Believe me when I say focused my kid was intense and hang on my every word. Sooooooo Chaseman got 21 days (in Tammy style lol) worth of info in hmmmm bout 15 min. Talk about wide eyed but biggest grin told mom and I he loved us. Chase did the withdrawal process in 1 day only God.....His Catscan showed lungs have improved huge turnaround this morning compared to last weeks. Again THANK YOU ALL....Now just have to wean him off the vent ....and Let him get strength built back up ..He will be ready to rock n roll.... All his Docs and Nurses are amazing thank you God for getting Chaseman to Methodist safe and sound in that horrible wind . God made all the crooked places straight for Chase through the prayers and wisdom of this hospital and staff. God Bless you all You are the best!!!!
