Mr. Epps boarded a SEPTA bus, paid his fare, and was walking to an empty seat when the SEPTA bus driver slammed on the gas, causing Mr. Epps to lose his balance and violently fall to the ground. Several witnesses rushed to his aid, and can be seen on video yelling to the SEPTA bus driver and even approaching the driver to let her know, but the SEPTA bus driver continues driving her route. For 11 minutes, Mr. Epps sat in the middle of the aisle in agonizing pain, begging the driver to stop and call an ambulance. For 11 minutes, the SEPTA bus driver ignored Mr. Epps (and the other passengers) because she wanted to finish her route on time. When the SEPTA bus driver did finally approach Mr. Epps (after finishing her route), she talked to him for 14 seconds before walking away - with a smile - and exiting the bus. Mr. Epps went to several other lawyers, asking for help, but most said SEPTA was immune from liability for such accidents (which is NOT true). Several other lawyers told Mr. Epps to call Pennsylvania SEPTA accident lawyer Tom Gibbons. Tom Gibbons accepted the challenge, demanded a copy of the bus video, and searched for, found, and interviewed the witnesses on the bus. SEPTA had no chance after that. The case settled for significant 6-figures just before trial, at a conference with the trial judge. Dont settle for a lawyer who only knows how to settle. GOT HURT? GET GIBBONS! Thomas J.
