Mr. Ernest Dewitt Webb, 67, passed away unexpectedly at his residence near Smithville on Friday, April 11, 2014. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, in the Liberty Primitive Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Ron Perry officiating. The family will receive friends at their residence from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sumter Humane Society, 108 Industrial Blvd., Americus, GA 31709 or to Troop 26, Boy Scouts of America, c/o First Baptist Church, 221 South Lee Street, Americus, GA 31709-3949. Mr. Webb was born September 12, 1946, the son of the late Ernest Dewitt Webb, Sr. and the late Falba Mildred Atwater Webb. He served in the National Guard and was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. He was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho and earned a Bachelors Degree from the University of Georgia. He was a dedicated farmer and enjoyed including and sharing sweet corn, turnip greens, and other produce items to his list of crops grown. Survivors include his wife, Ann Frances Benkoski Webb, his sons and daughters-in-law, Emory Cornwell Webb and Leah Dawn, Lewis Dewitt Webb and Beth, and William Morgan Webb and Rebecca; a step-son, John Hammock; a step-daughter, Becky Kohnen and her husband Martin, a sister, Donice Webb White; and grandchildren Jackson Howell Webb, William Howell Webb, Benjamin Howell Webb, Colby Shane Webb, Emory Caitlin Webb, Charles Cornwell Webb, Logan Daugherty Webb, Banks Collum Webb, Emily Elizabeth EB Hammock, Brian Harris Kohnen, and Keeli Piper Hammock.
