Mr. Harold W. Parker, 77, of Opp died Thursday, August 8, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday, August 12, 2013 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The family requests the omission of flowers and memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Opp or the Alzheimer’s Association. Mr. Parker served in the Army during the Korean War. He was the founder & owner of Comfort Heating and Cooling for 26 years before his retirement in 1994. After retirement Harold became very active in the Covington Baptist Association, especially in the Christian Service Centers. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Opp, the Downtown Redevelopment Board, Opp Masonic Lodge and served as President of the Opp Rotary Club. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Shirley Parker; daughter & son-in-law, Belinda & Scott McAda of Boquete, Panama; stepdaughter, Tammy Adams & husband John of Opp, AL; stepson, Gene Cobb & wife Terri of Daphne, AL; grandchildren, Wesley and Will McAda of China, Katy & Mike Crisp of Ft. Worth, TX, Carrie Adams of Washington, DC and Tyler & Hunter Cobb of Daphne, AL; great-grandchildren, Sara Kate, Gryder and Ryland Crisp of Ft. Worth, TX; and his constant companion “Milo”. Randy Breedlove and Wayne Sharpe will be officiating with John Adams delivering the eulogy. Serving as pallbearers will be Lea Cooke, Jimmy Flowers, Clay Pierce, Gary Strickland, Joseph Warren and Tom Wismer.
