Gowdy continued to be his normal self (who I happen to think is awesome) throughout the rest of the clip, pressing Dr. Lurie on just why a political operative was placed in such an important position. Naturally, Lurie couldn’t give a good reason for Obama’s decision since it really is indefensible, but she sure did try. Gowdy ended up pointing out the obvious and echoing the sentiments of most of America, saying “Why pick a lawyer? Call [me] cynical, it just appears to be political.” Of course it is, everything from this administration is political in one way or another and after nearly seven years we shouldn’t expect it to change. Our friends at the Conservative Tribune summarized Obama’s true legacy perfectly: Rather than place qualified candidates into these important government positions, the president has again and again handed the reigns to personal friends and campaign donors. His disgusting indifference only degrades the government’s ability to operate efficiently, as it is being run by people who have no clue what they’re doing. And with the Ebola crisis being such an important thing to deal with at the moment, Obama’s ludicrous appointment will put America’s health at risk.
