Mr. Lawson, Commissioner Kreidler has asked me to respond to your email on his behalf. Fire protection can have an impact on a homeowners policy. Insurers do look at fire protection when they assess risk and rates for policies. How this specific incident might impact your individual policy, I can’t tell you. You may want to contact your agent to see if this might specifically impact your policy. Additionally, you may want to contact the commissioner’s for the fire district your home is in to see if they have resolved the issues that may be occurring. The Washington Survey and Rating Bureau provides insurance companies with fire protection information for specific areas of the state. They may be able to provide you with information on how these protection classifications are developed. They can be reached at 206.217.0101 or customerservice@wsrb . Thank you for contacting our office. Your contact reference number is 1131660. Their is also a concern about the fire hydrants in town and the surrounding area not working. Will this effect my property insurance if all of this is true?
