Mr. Louis Brady, who cut my hair most of my young life has passed. He was such a gentle soul and never nicked my head when he cut my hair. He owned Brady Barber shop for decades and then Plaza Barber shop. He was a Bardstown Icon and was a police officer for Bardstown Police Dept. and then a dispatcher, part time while he got his barber shop going. Will miss him very much, his info is below. Visitation Sunday, 4:00-8:00pm, prayers 6:00pm, Monday from 9:00am-12:30pm at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home Funeral Monday, August 18, 2014, 1:00pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church Interment St. Joseph Church Cemetery Mr. Louis Donald Brady, 81, of Bardstown, passed away Friday August 15, 2014, at Colonial Health and Rehabilitation in Bardstown. He was born June 26, 1933 in Marion County, was a Korean Air Force veteran, a former police officer for the Bardstown Police Department, owner and operator of Plaza Barber Shop for over 45 years and a member of St. Joseph Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Hardesty Brady, a son, Bernard Michael Brady, his parents Patrick and Josephine Morris Brady, 3 brothers, Jim Brady, Charles Brady and Mack Brady and 2 sisters, Borgia Lee and Elizabeth Riney. He is survived by 2 sons, Gary (Lisa) Brady and Fred (Mary) Brady, all of Bardstown, 4 grandchildren, Lara (Brian) Wood of Norfolk, VA, Elizabeth Brady, Frederick Brady and Patrick Brady, all of Bardstown, 4 brothers, Bobby Brady, Al Brady, and Norris Brady, all of Marion County and Gabe Brady of Louisville and several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, August18, 2014, at 1:00pm at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Reverend David Cockson will be the celebrant. Visitation will be Sunday, August 17, 2014, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Houghlin- Greenwell Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:00pm, additional visitation Monday from 9:00am-12:30pm. Family request that expressions of sympathy be made to the Alzheimers Association. Houghlin- Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
