Mr. Mahama said those questioning his commitment to fighting corruption do not really know him. “Recently a few of my comrades have questioned my commitment to fight corruption. I dare say they don’t know me”.His comments come on the heels of concerns by former Majority Leader, Alban Bagbin, that corruption allegations in the government are not being tackled head on. Bagbin also accused certain people around the President of frustrating his efforts to gain access to the President to offer him private advice about how to tackle corruption in his administration. The former health Minister’s tirade sparked a furore, especially on social media, between him and some presidential staffers and Ministers of State. The President’s veiled response to Bagbin also comes at a time that the governing party’s General Secretary has called for a truce between Bagbin and some appointees of the President.
