Mr. Nwaham told them that the same approach of preserving the ward - TopicsExpress

Mr. Nwaham told them that the same approach of preserving the ward leadership stool for some chosen persons is also playing out in Otolokpo where one Shegerege is said to be Nwugo’s choice and Ekuoma where one TBT is also Nwugo’s choice. Mr. Nwaham was at pain to find explanation to that kind of politicking. He said that nothing is going on at Mbiri, the Owas, even Igbodo, Ute Ogbeje, etc where he also chose his kind of people. He lamented that Obuh certainly deserves better. He is a new wine and should have serious minded technocrats around before those with brawn. Everyone is needed but the order must be right. That is a strategic role those around Obuh now must play well. Some persons who commented opined that Nwugo has his agenda for insisting on his kind of people to take charge of the wards in Ika North East. But they expressed gross alarm that a personal agenda will overshadow the first interest, which is to deliver the principal with honest crowd from our wards, not to rely on the old approach of always putting violence and shady deals first. In third world politics, these vices are an integral part of elections but in today’s politics they should be supportive not first line. The meeting resolved to maintain their body (INEfTO) as a pressure group for Tony Obuh. Thereafter, we will apply ourselves as the request comes. They also resolved to find any means to let the Principal know the landmines ahead for him in Ika North East, from certain people that may be positioned as if they are working in his interest. Highlights of the meeting include the approach of the group by the PDM candidate for the councillorship election in Umunede ward, Mr. Felx Okwurike Nwaokoro. He solicited the support of the group to mobilize their members to vote for him in the election billed for 25th Saturday. Convener, Iwemdi Nwaham (in white short sleeve shirt) listen as a member make his point
