Mr. Pohlman, Im sorry that I have to post this comment regarding your facility. On 3/18/2014 my wife and I celebrated our 35th anniversary. We arranged a getaway and we were very excited about spending a couple of days at the Golden Nugget. We have always enjoyed our stay at your property but we last visited you shortly after the transition from the Trump Marina to the Golden Nugget began. When we checked in Sunday March 16 we were very impressed with the physical changes we saw and were expecting a wonderful stay, unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. While the room was beautiful it was very uncomfortable. The HVAC system did not seem to work and the room was very warm. I lowered the temperature to 65 and turned the fan to hi to get the room comfortable. The next issue we had was with a charge to my debit account. When we went to the front desk to ask about the charge the young lady acted as though we were bothering her by asking about this charge. She did answer our questions but was very negative about doing so. After dinner on 3/16/2014 we went to the Casino floor. The floor looked fantastic But everything else about it was horrible. I sat down to play Ultimate Texas HoldEm and was sorry I did. I bought in on the table with $100.00 but it took forever to get the attention of the pit boss to register my by-in. While playing not only myself but the other players at the table constantly had to get the attention of the pit boss to check change, register additional buy ins and cashing out. We practically had to tackle a drink hostess to get something to drink. This is horrible service and it seemed your employees dont care. When my wife finished her slot machine play she talked me into playing some roulette. I was playing on your $5 table and was having a great time. Several of us were playing and enjoying ourselves, when a pit boss came over to the table and posted an increase to $10 dollars in 30 minutes. Why did he need to do that. A $10 table was already opened and was full with players. When your pit boss posted the increase all players except for me left the table immediately, I waited until the limit was raised and then cashed out. We had several other issues as well but this post has become lengthy enough. I will conclude with this, when we checked out on Tuesday 3/18 I asked for your name and the address to send you a letter regarding our stay. They person at the front desk ask me to wait and walked to the back and returned with a lady named Victoria. She asked me why I wanted the information and assured me that she could address any issues we had. I explained our issues and our disappointment and she promptly comped our room for 3/17/2014. She also promised 2 nights on her and a $50 meal comp. She said the offer was good for 6 months but could not be used on Friday and Saturdays and certain Holidays. I told her that was fine and that my wife and I always stay Sunday thru Thursday when we come. She asked me for my email address and said she would email the details and I would have that email when I arrived home. Well again I am disappointed. As of this posted comment I still have not received her email. in addition I have discovered another charge to my debit account for $20, WHY? I would appreciate a response to [email protected].
