Mr. President, 75 years ago, Europe went to war. Two - TopicsExpress

Mr. President, 75 years ago, Europe went to war. Two totalitarian powers divided millions of square miles of Eastern Europe between them and Japan continued her conquests in Asia. 69 years ago, the final treaty ending WWII was signed. 50 million dead. Out of the ashes, some hopeful signs. And a Cold War plus millions enslaved to communism in China. The moral, political and military failure of the Western nations in the 1930s prepared the way. Neville Chamberlain and others thought Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin and Tojo could be managed. Evil must be opposed with moral, military and political strength. The Right must leave her nostalgia behind, find the first principles and cooperate with people of goodwill. The Left must stop making America the source of all problems and accept that we must act in behalf of compassion and justice. Get out of your academic fog and recognize the real enemies of liberty. Islamicist intolerance must be exposed, denounced and opposed, with no qualifications. I challenge the secular Left to stop screaming at Republican governors and start standing for the female victims of terrorist organizations and the persecuted minorities that are the true victims of genocide. By the way, Israel is the only nation in the region where atteists and LGBTQ folks are free to express themselves. I challenge every group calling for justice in Palestine to renounce ISIS and Hamas and call for an end to eliminationist rhetoric. Jewish students on USA college campuses deserve to feel safe. Western colonialism is no longer as excuse for these cycles of violence. There are enough oil resources in the Arab and Persian nations to eliminate poverty. We have an intractable, totalitarian foe that is intolerant, misogynist, and opposed to all the liberties the West has gained in the past half-millennium. Time for courage, Mr. President, not happy talk. China is agressive, Russia is on the move and terrorists are recruiting - all because you decided to lead from behind and denigrate Americas role in the world. Time for courage and action, not golf and rhetoric.
