Mr. Robert S. Ellington-Snipes, a.k.a. Prince Zuberi Yusuf Olafemi, serves as the General President of the African American Improvement Association in Chicago, as Representative of Kankakee County Board District #18, and as a revered educator at the King Middle School. For decades, he was also highly esteemed as a professional singer and songwriter who used his deep rich soulful sound to captivate and enthrall massive audiences in the United States and in Europe. Due to complications with his vocal chords, Robert S. Ellington-Snipes chose to retire from his singing career and delivered his farewell performance in August 2011 at his twentieth Spice of Life, an annual fundraising event for the Kankakee County Coalition Against Domestic Violence. For his final performance, Robert S. Ellington-Snipes chose to perform "The Water Is Wide" accompanied by world class pianist Adam Patrick Moore. Immediately before this selection was performed, Spice of Life senior director and manager Bonnie Brewer gave a special tribute presentation acknowledging Robert S. Ellington-Snipes for perhaps his most talked about role.....a colorfully suited plate of fashion!!!!
