As he was a life membership in AFA, kindly request you to tell me the things that I need to follow after his death and what are the benefits my widow mother can get. I have already intimated the information to AFRO, New Delhi by post. I always read the AFA news bulletin on the FB and really feel proud of it that my father was a family member of Indian Air force. Family, AFA sends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. The AFA would also like to suggest that in any such eventuality, the sender of information must include complete details of the deceased-meaning his Service number, his AFA membership number, the address of the deceased, the name of the authorised NOK, her date of birth, the contact address and a mobile/telephone number. A death certificate has also to be sent as soon as it is available. All such information or any other connected information, if sent to the AFA in the first instance itself, can really help in expediting the connected procedures. Kindly make a note. Thanks.
