Mr. Thompson of the National Housing Authority, (NHA) , you are aware that attempting to borrow from the Central Bank of Liberia is not in the best interest of a government owed corporation. You have options to borrow from institutional investors and/or the open market. To affect such a policy, you will need to sell some equity in the housing business. There are lots of opportunities for the NHA to expand in other parts of the country, provided the Government agrees. For example, the entity may buy real properties as an agent of the sovereign for resale to potential buyers. This process removes impostors and criminals from the land business. These bold steps are great avenues for the LEC, LWSC and the local stakeholders to partake in bringing needed development s to the country. I will suggest that the NHA does not take money from the NASSCORP as its funds are “statutorily restricted.” Please beware that NASSCORP cannot venture into any “commercial business” without an expressed authorization. We look forward to the NHA developing and enforcing building codes along with the Ministry of Public Works in the new Liberia. Finally, you will get on the Minister of Finances back for the money or recommend private participation to get the needed funds if GOL agrees. Everything is GOL... Thank you.
