Mr. Vinod Rai has spoken up and spoken out. So the whys and the wherefores are irrelevant and wails and howls of shock, protest and umbrage are a waste of precious breath. Mr Rai has the right to expression like any other citizen, and he has exercised it. His stated intention is inter alia to showcase the extent to which the constitutionally mandated system of checks and balances was observed during a given period. And, most importantly, bricks or bouquets should come from only those who have actually read the book. So (a) lets wait for the book to come out; (b) lets beg, borrow, buy or steal this book after it comes out; (c) then, lets actually read it and (d) then, let the world have your comments. I think thats a fair proposition.
