Mrs Beeton and her book of Household Management October’s lecture for Beverley Fine Arts Society was delivered by an enthusiastic Annie Gray on Mrs Beeton and the art of the table. In complete period costume and character she delivered a talk on mid-Victorian dining styles , etiquette and moulds. She described how Mrs Beeton’s book was the first of its kind to be published with pictures of table settings and dishes to accompany the recipes. Thank you to all our members and guests who attended the lecture and the next lecture will be on The Glasgow Boys, The Glasgow Girls, The Scottish Colourists and the French Connection.
