Mrs. Burnett and the energy team did the Ivory Soap experiment today. They put a regular bar of Ivory soap in the microwave for 2 minutes. The water and gas evaporated which expanded the bar of soap into a huge ball of foam. It is simply a physical reaction and not a chemical reaction as the foam then turned to a powdery substance. It can be used to wash your hands just like the bar of soap. Each child took the directions and a small bag of the powdery substance home to share with their families. It turned out to be an excellent energy team meeting!
