Mrs Janet Temmers of 117 Lepelhout Street passed away peacefully this morning at hospital Bellvile Melomed. Many of the students of Modderdam Secondary and Disa Primary School will remember her. She served on the school governing bodies of both schools for many years. She also served on the then Athlone School Circuit Board. But to me she was more than just Mrs Temmers or the aunty I met through family members. She played a very supportive role in my life ever since I came to Cape Town in 1981. Shen and her family is not related to me by blood but we became family of the heart. She was initially Mrs Temmers to me, then Aunty Janet and in her last few years I called her mummy. She was struck down with dementia which took its toll on her. Mrs Temmers, Aunty Janet, Mummy.....you will be fondly remembered. Rest in peace. I will always love!!!!!
