Mrs. Lois Sugg - Our Friend and Saint of God. There are a limited number of people in the world which the words; personification, quintessential, model or star can truly be applied too. There are even those more incredibly rare times in life when these type of words are not enough to define the person, how can the life of this type of individual be summed up is such a limited way? Today is such a day, our words will fall short, our analogies will not do justice and our salutes will be pale in comparison to a life so well lived, as that of the life of Mrs. Lois Sugg. Today, May 22, 2014 Mrs. Lois Sugg left this world to travel to her home. As the Pastor of the church Mrs. Sugg called “Hers” I often found myself, listening to her stories. Many times I heard about the places she lived, the children she had seen come and go and her love for this country. There were even times she would scold me if she felt I was not pulling my weight, or as she would put it “making too much noise out there” and I would find myself standing in the office feeling like a 10 year old boy being corrected by my Grandmother. Mrs. Sugg had a way that could be simultaneously endearing, funny and scolding. I personally found her so intriguing and interesting, moreover, as many who knew her found I too discovered that I could not help but love her, she made me laugh. Her favorite hymn was “In the Garden” (lyrics below), which I know she is not only singing, she is living it now. “I come to the garden alone, While the dew is still on the roses, And the voice I hear falling on my ear, The Son of God discloses . . . And He walks with me, and He talks with me, And He tells me I am His own, And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other, has ever, known! He speaks and the sound of His voice, Is so sweet the birds hush their singing, And the melody that he gave to me, Within my heart is ringing . . . And He walks with me, and He talks with me, And He tells me I am His own, And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other, has ever, known! And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other, has ever, known!” Today our church lost a treasure and heaven gained a Saint. Terry Ryan – Pastor Currently the arrangements for the Celebration of this Ladies wonderful life are being planned. We will post the arrangements here as soon as possible.
