Mrs. Menaka Gandhi has demanded immediate ban on the incessant killing of cows from the Uttar Pradesh Government headed by Akhilesh Yadav. It was sad to see the ever-increasing demand of meat in the export markets. It is reported in the press that the sale of buffalo meat alone during the year 2012-13 has been of the order of 7,26,287 tons worth Rs. 8,607.79 crores. It is high time that the Jain organisations must jointly come forward and represent to the central government for stopping this inhuman activity.
