Mrs. Weinhold, 3rd grade...always had a stern look on her face...I think it was because she was so focused on her students though. Every morning she would have a kettle of soup, or stew, or chili setting on the back registers that she would have made and brought in from home because somebody may forget their lunch. Truth be told, there were a few whose folks couldnt afford to send lunch and what she fed them may have been what they ate for the day. She sat teaching class from her desk, generally with one kid or another on her lap while at the same time knitting. Yeah, I said knitting. You see she was in a constant state of knitting hats and mittens and scarves and sweaters...ironically they were always 3rd graders size. There were a lot of poor families in the area back then. But Mrs. Weinholds classes was fed, and warm, and well educated, and so very well loved. I dont if youre still around Mrs. Weinhold, but...Thank You ;) ~Ang
