Ms. Julia Kohler grew up in Germany, went to school in Switzerland and lived in Paris and London. She is truly a European woman with a multicultural understanding of people. During her childhood, she had always found herself surrounded by books and developed an affinity for words and language early on. She was introduced to spoken word by a friend three years ago and was fascinated from the start. She had NO IDEA that she would fall in love with it, but it has become a part of her. She confesses that it is like [her] heart, like [her] bones, like [her] blood.... She considers herself to be a very selfish writer because her poetry is about herself. Most of her poems are extremely intimate and personal. They speak about pain and loss, love and longing… simply relationships, her relationships. You will find her ex and future lovers between the lines mixed with tears, sighs and laughter. And if you read careful enough, you may even be able to find a piece of her soul hidden there. Matt Parker and I are beyond excited to have this rather new poet ALL THE WAY FROM EUROPE performing during Saturday, June 21, for BPC PoetryFest 2014!!!! Thank you for coming sis!!!
